What is it? Taro pastry. Flaky dough is wrapped around a taro filling and then deep fried. Where to find it? Fenchihu, Taiwan. There is one main food alleyway in Fenchihu that runs parallel to the railroad tracks.
Thoughts... I'm a big fan of taro and fried foods. So this was a perfect harmony for me.
